Mid Week Update….

So yeah, I started this blog with a starting weight and a goal weight.

Then I have been doing what I can to watch not so much the amount of food I eat, but more the quality of food I eat.

I have been waking up early each day and going for walks, and tracking my walks with runkeeper.com on my iPhone.

I am pleased to update everyone who reads this that I have already lost 2.6 pounds! I am on track to my goal!

I did want to put out there that this doesn’t have to be just my challenge… if anyone else out there wants to join me they can… just email me, or post it as a comment to this post. I need to know you starting wieght, your goal weight, your reasons for doing this and so on… so please if you want in, add a comment.

Weight, and Activites…

So, this is my first journal recording….

This morning I got up at 6am. A rare thing for me, but it’s a habit I am trying to create. I have noticed that most effective people I know both from the business world and from personal life get up and get their day started. No excuses, and no whining, They just get moving. So I’m doing the same.

I threw on some clothes and went for a walk on MSU’s campus. It’s really very beautiful to watch the sun rise while exercising. I think this beauty is what’s going to keep me going. Anyway, I walked a brisk 1.2 miles. Not too far, but after I got back to the house I did some Arnis work, including double sinawali for 5 minutes, then some angle work, and some use of the elastic training band, until it broke. Guess I’ll have to go back to using the bar bells.

After all that, I got home and figured I should record my current weight for posterity. I hate establishing a number, it’s a fact for all time and so on. But I need the notice that my health is a concern. So with that in mind I dusted off the wii fit board (it’s the best scale I have ever used!) I did the body test……..

I currently weigh 289lbs!

This I think is the heaviest I have ever been… but that’s why I’m here to fix the problem.

Here, Goes… On the Healthy Adventure

Hi, I’m Seth. I must say that I have always been a larger person. Do to my physical make up I’ll never weigh less than 200lbs, But I would like to be much closer to 200lbs than I am now.

For the past few years I have had a stress filled job. I also had an hour commute to and from work each day. This pushed me into a caffeine and fast food lifestyle. I’ve been gaining weight and I am really starting to feel it’s effects on my overall health.

On February 7th, 2010 my daughter was born. I am so in love with being a dad! I want to be around for her a very very long time.

On March 30th, 2010 I was let go from my stress filled job.

So now, here I am ready to kick some butt, and drop some pounds!

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
