Better Week….

OK, so last week I had a wrecked car, and no idea where we were going to move into on the goal of being back in Bay City soon.

Good news is, my car is fixed… all back and driving nicely. I had to pay my deductible, but I am supposed to be getting paid back [...]

Wow, What a week…

So where to start, I really don’t know.

First Jenn and I are still searching for a house to move into up in Bay City. But sadly there are more houses for sale than there are for rent… This is proving to be tough.

Then, my unemployment isn’t coming through yet. So far it doesn’t say that [...]

Happy New Year, so long 2009

It’s December 31st, 2009. New Years Eve. Unlike the past couple years, Jenn and I are sitting at home. It’s kinda nice. We’re going to watch the ball drop on TV then celebrate her birthday tomorrow with her parents.
Why are we staying in? Because Jenn’s got a gigantic pregnant belly since she’s due to give [...]

Merry Seasons n’ Such

So tis the Season, Happy Christmahonnukakwazika! Yes, our brand of the Houston clan is celebrating the season. It’s no secret that I am not always the most joyous this time of year. Maybe I have seasonal affective disorder, or maybe I just get over burdened with stress at work plus stress from shopping plus having [...]

Thanksgiving, Coming Holidays, and a Sad Goodbye

Thanksgiving has come and gone. This year my parents, my Aunt Robbie, my sister, and Jenn’s parents came over to enjoy the meal. It was good seeing them all and for my family, this was their first visit to the Lansing Houston house.

More than being thankful, I am very full of gratitude for the time [...]

Hello, again.

I would like to start tonight’s blog post off with an apology to my readers. To my friends and family.

Maybe I should phrase it more like this: Forgive me friends for I have sinned. It has been twenty one days since my last blog post.

Yeah I think that’s really more appropriate. I’ve kinda been in [...]

Future faux pas… what’s in a name?

So a revelation hit me like a sack of bricks… Kinda a funny one.  Jenn and I are half way to having our first child. We had our ultrasound, you can read more about that on a previous post. We’re having a Girl.
And we want to name her Samantha Jeane Houston.
Samantha.
Sammy.
Sam…
Holy crap our kid is [...]

Baby News… now with photo!

Today started with a a rainbow. No, really it did! I swear.
As Jennifer and I pulled in to the parking lot of the OB/GYN office there was a huge rainbow streaking right across the sky. It was pretty, and I thought to myself how fitting as we go in to take our first look at [...]

A Home is a Home.

As last night, I kinda griped about searching for meaning, tonight I find myself not able to get a topic to write about. Isn’t that funny? I get all deep and almost morose about making sure there is a point behind the madness, and then in only a day I find myself lacking exactly what [...]

A meditation of options

I do believe at this time, I will endeavor to build an online presence while still working my job as an optician. I will try new things, and I will experiment within the safety of my current career. But if I should be able to build a home business, then by all means I will look forward to the day I have to decide between my many options.
